Grade 7 Science
Unit D SLO 1.1 & 1.2
For the district-wide PD day on October 13, 2020, I participated in a collaborative community hosted by Mr. Bret Jesse on Minecraft for Education. I learned how to use the program during this session, and consequently planning activities in Unit D: Structures and Forces using the skills I learned in PD. The students love Minecraft and I used this as a way to reach them with something relevant to their lives in order to foster greater engagement and curiosity about the Nature of Science. Students explored a world built by me where they had to view structures I built and classfy them, and also completed a project where they built their own structures using correct identification of form and function.
